Ball mills will clump if there's moisture in the powder. Powder is milled dry, and rockets are pressed dry. The water isn't just for safety.

If you can barricade it that's even better (things like sandbags). Just make sure you don't block off air to the motor. When making black powder there is always a chance for it to go off.

Milled BP is sort of the standard. I personally don't believe a ball mill is NECESSARILY required for hot BP, but something of a comparable speed is required.

I think you'll get composition "stuck" in the donut hole of the nut. use the smallest uniform amount of ball media. the more surface area, the more "grinding" that occurs. fill your mill up half way with media
