The potassium nitrate grinds better with the larger 1/2" media. The sweet spot for charcoal in my rudimentary testing was 5/16" diameter.

Each package of your sinkers are oz. Let's call it 4 oz for simplicity. So it'd take 4 packs/pound, or 10 packs/jar (at lbs/media/jar).
